I think this has negative effects on the threadiverse because it tends to keep user’s focus at lemmy.world and in general keeps users to stay in their bubbles

Don’t people switch to using subscribed pretty soon anyway? All is full of junk for me.
I’d say “irrelevant to my interests” 🤷♂️
If you sort All by TopDay it’s not too bad.
Very well. Then subscribed should be default. But in the community tab, default should definitely be “All”. I think here it would be even more important.
If you haven’t created an account, subscribed isn’t available.
For selecting which instance you should join, would “local” or “all” be a better choice for the front page for a new user unfamiliar with Lemmy?
