Bug or design choice…
I notice when reading directly on your server, that the URL parameters are not part of the link.
I have a login that I think you rejected or not yet approved from a week or so back. “RoundSparrow”. And when I try to login on 0.18.1 on your server, I get no error message, it just comes back to the login form. I even tried a wrong password to see if it gave an error, and nothing.
P.S. Lemmy.ml is lagging so badly in getting messages incoming, your posting hasn’t shown up on lemmy.ml copy of the community, so I’m using my test instance and a test account. Your last two posts, before and after the upgrade, are not on lemmy.ml: https://lemmy.ml/c/meta@lemm.ee?dataType=Post&page=1&sort=New
Then it is servers dropping peer to peer communications, timeouts or other problems because of overload.
You have to search for the community for your local instance to discover it, the first person to subscribe triggers the discovery and flow of data.
Additionally, my subscriptions to the lemmy.world communities that do show up here have been stuck “Pending Subscription” for days, and unsubscribing/re-subscribing doesn’t help.
Symptom of their server being overloaded and not responding to the request. Ongoing issue with version 0.18.1 even. GitHub: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/3203
BugReport
On your posting, https://lemm.ee/post/485546 the current comment count on the top of the posting is inflated. From a remote instance, I edited my message, and I think the bug still exists where the count on the postings is incremented even though there are not new messages and only edits. See GitHub issue: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/3334
