How can I forget about Lord Latifi?
If you don’t mind a rogue, a rake, a real scoundrel (anti hero even) I’d say the Flashman books.
George Macdonald Frasier’s series of historical fiction.
Flashy is, by his own admission, not a good person, but a fun easy read.
It may have been user error, for me. I’m pretty sure CDs I had bought and ripped to ITunes changed to ‘this song is not on your device’ cloud copies when Apple Music happened- then they disappeared entirely, even though they were files I added to OG iTunes almost 20 years ago.
Sadly, my iPod’s hard drive failed a while ago. I enjoyed the free streaming stuff for the few and fewer times I had music on. I’ll be upgrading the iPod and heading out to sea… again.
I enjoyed the Redwall series around his age. Yes , they are formulaic after a while, but good fun pulp adventure for kids.
I believe she made a post/video a bit ago saying that she was taking a break from the videos for a bit, after quitting her job. She said she was going to focus more on her channel(s) as her main focus, to do something she enjoys.
I see a lot of her YouTube stuff posted a month ago, a couple of new ones, my guess is that her break is over and there will be more stuff coming.
Though I may be misinterpreting the question…
Muggsy Bogues, too. Though I don’t think he won a dunk contest.
Then it’s a journey you are both on. There is no victory, only constant vigilance. Stop being in the position where ‘only one’ is even an option.
I say this having seen my sister go through this too- fortunately more successfully than my dad.
Good luck man, find help. If not for her, then for you- it’s won’t be easy going alone.
My dad chose the booze in this scenario. From tenured university professor with a family to dying alone, homeless, on the other side of the country.
It may work, it may not. You are not (hopefully) the only one who wants to help her. Find the help, don’t take on the burden alone.
Don’t make a threat you are not ready to follow up on. If you go back on your word, then she can too.
Incredibile Crisis, on PS1.
Admittedly the story is a bit thin… the game play is purposefully enraging… but it gets a big ol’double check mark on the OST requirement thanks to the Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra.
On a totally different note and tone, Last of Us. I dig anything Gustavo Santaolalla.
A fabulous album to hear at 4 am, bleary eyed, just getting to work at the bakery as the overnight shift is wrapping up, way too energetic for my half asleep brain to handle. Hearing that distinctive voice grow louder in the still morning darkness of a small college town. The last lingering weekend revelers reluctantly finding their way home at the end of their night as my day just begins…
20 years later, I’ve managed to keep it in rotation through dying hard drives and iPods-having lost the copy of a copy that I had ripped it from to begin with.
The ravens seemed to be calling his name, thought Caw.
Hey, some places it’s the county Sheriff that’s the coroner… which is also bad.
Sometimes people die in the county jail… and almost every time it’s not needed to perform an autopsy- it’s just natural causes…
The coroner needs to be an impartial medical professional.
