Not how I would try to pick up a date, but shoot your shot I guess.
He was just a Fledditor. Living in a Lemmy woooorld.

To be fair, it was about the bigots too. I had to look up the song after a certain group blew up about it. It’s a lovely song about inclusivity and what it might take for us to stop fighting eachother.
Side note, do you have a link to the full video? I had to use a VPN to try and find it and got terrible quality.
Legitimately curious here, what did you find disgusting? The message of the song, the callback to classical art and religion, performers in costume, or something else?
I’m on my phone less, commenting more, avoiding more ads, and much happier with the content/comments on Lemmy. Reddit chains sometimes felt a little brain-rotty.

Oh wow, they managed to not say the quiet part out loud.
I work making low quality dog food; like stuff the local shelters won’t accept unless they get desperate. You bet your ass I do my job properly to make sure the dogs can’t get salmonella from the food. I can’t stop people buying it, but I’ll do what I can for safety.
Exactly. Do what you can when you can. Everyone needs a hand sometimes. Be that for the people around you. Even if you can’t agree on everything.
Lot of good things in here. A couple thoughts. One: Because Lemmy is nice to be on/use. The community generally ‘slaps’ as the generations below me call it. Two: Also white male USA and have also been deeply concerned for the past several years. I chose to focus on community directly around me while acknowledging the crappy situation everywhere due to asshats abusing power/status/wealth. I take solace that the people I choose to spend time around are generally reasonable people and try to help eachother out when we can and always when needed.
True. To throw my opinion into the mix, if the Rings of Power show did actually copy from his work, they should look to partner with Demetrious instead of all this nonsense. I agree he legally can’t profit off the IP of the Tolkien estate as laws stand, but copywrite also lasts far longer than it has any good reason to. It should be the author’s lifetime plus a decade or so. Finally, it is an affront to creativity everywhere to order the destruction of all physical and electronic copies. That should not happen. Ever.
Exactly! Add the alchohol and drugs and there’s no self-control left! Glad I’m not the only one, judging by the username.
Phone user here, can confirm. Wouldn’t get anything done if I had lemmy or reddit open on my pc.
It feels like mostly internet veterans and people that care to explain themselves to me. Less recent users that don’t know technology or are newer to social media that isn’t “mainstream”.
Agreed. I’ll be staying with Lemmy. I don’t care about daily active user numbers, I care about how Spez is treating Reddit and having good post content. Redditors themselves (as a whole) are not a problem, and I have a plethora of good posts to go through when I get on every few days.
Have a great day yourself
I wish I could have that viewpoint. Believe me.
Ty, I’ll probably look into that wiki article, but I like to hear individual thoughts on the matter as well. ❤️
Man. What I would gove to have firearm violence so far away that I don’t know the gun laws in my own country. Ty for the response.
Yeah. There is an abundance of opinions here, but most if not all are very self-centered. It’s all I ever heard.
Tbf people my age and younger (barely below 1/2 the population) typically don’t use them in most careers or even learn about calipers in High School. My work was the first place that properly taught me how to measure internal diameter and depth.
Ok, and to clarify, do you mean disgusting as in the opposite of attractive, or that you feel an internal wrongness when looking? I’m guessing it’s something way beyond either, otherwise it wouldn’t make sense to find others “insane” for liking the performance.
