  • It looks like the previous dev diary is tackling some of the worst aspects of the warfare system. Patch 1.4 is going to address convoy raiding, and patch 1.5’s open beta (which releases at the same time as 1.4) is going to look into merging frontlines. Plus the addition of new diplomatic sways, reverse-sways, and some changed behavior regarding imperialistic AI, it’s all looking like some excellent changes are coming down the pipeline.

These changes are really needed too. I want to love Victoria 3, but imho it just feels like it came out a full year too early. Too many things getting in the way of the satisfying economic sim they managed to build. Hopefully 1.4 and 1.5 aren’t too far away, and they’re successful.

  • I don’t think so. Maybe I’m misunderstood, but the “I use Arch” meme was meming on the fact that using Arch was a flex, like it’s harder to get into, and you’re a true blooded Linux user if you’re using Arch.

Whereas, Pop_OS is kind of the opposite. I’m fairly new to Linux (been using a Linux system as my daily driver for about a year), and Pop_OS was recommended as a beginner-friendly distro. Plus, it worked well with Nvidia cards with minimal effort. So maybe it seems like a lot of people are using Pop_OS and are bringing it up, because there are a lot of newer Linux users.

  • Its been brought to my attention on a previous thread that if you’re attaching images to comments on Kbin, Lemmy users cannot see them.

I still very much dislike imgur though, so I wouldn’t suggest that as a solution. But embedding images into hyperlinks seems to be the best way to ensure your comment containing an image is viewed correctly by the wider fediverse.

  • Mannnn… I really want to enjoy battlebits. Looks like it captures the old battlefield ‘feel’ really well. It’s just super unfortunate that they are switching to an anti-cheat service that requires kernel access. Even if it didn’t break compatibility with my system, which it will, on principle that’s just too much trust given regarding my computer imho.

  • Couldn’t have said it better than myself. o7

Also, Helldivers 2 has been announced. So not the worst time to get into the first gem! Though, split screen support has not been confirmed for the sequel, and it may not make an appearance since they’re making the jump to a 3rd person perspective. But it still looks good, and I am fanboying over it.
