Absolutely, internal divisions suck. (What people are calling) Tankie and anti tankie ideas have the potential to be useful if and when its not an ideologial snare.

Yes, anti-Tankies are verry simmlar to Tankies. However, I think the commenter is coping by being an anti-tankie. Both groups can becone and come back from crazy. People can also safely hold tankie and anti-tankie like beleafs but (like a lot of ideology) run the risk of becoming crazy.

“Tankie” nationallists fail to see the raising over time evil and fantisize the good and the ones who passionately hate Tankies (im guilty of it) fail to see the good slowly rotting away. Then we say the whole country never changed throuout its lifetime, one points to the beginnigng the other points to the end.
Places like the Soviate Union from my limited knolage seem to be a nation with slowly growing leadership alignment problems, slowly using things like nationalism and subverting democracy to flip who should be masters and who should be slaves.
Likely trial and error, try these metrics but honestly, its better to have larger (say 720 × 720 px) sized PFP.

Youll see many people the system calls “leftists”. some youll be buddys with and some youll despise. Some fit the “leftist” label perfectly, some barely fit at all.

Im mixed because on one hand, you dont want a “crazy lady in the attic”. (we feed her and don’t talk about her) to fix that you must be intolerant to the intolerant. (in this case, you want to be against intolerance for people who are running windows) Its uncomfortable because it feels like your attacking yourself.
honestly, do what makes you happy. I may eat and breath Linux but its my choice. yours is valid too. I disassociate from anyone who attack people and not their OS’s issues. there are people who just want to make hardware and software better, (FSF is hard to advocate for but I generally do), the losers who verbally harass people for not using Linux are culturally destructive (especially to Linux).

Im generally on the side of reposting for archival and continuation. however, the “throw it out there” half-assed ness and lack of transparency of these services make it a no deal. If I were to remake one (and ive thoght about it) a simple “upload and done” approach is discusting. These bots (clarified: probably should create their own instance for the task) need communal love and care to be anything but “a fire hose of content”. I propose the following:
- Allow the community to control most aspects of the bot behavor.
- Do not upload/add to queue unless initated by a lemmy user
- Allow users to vote on post deletion, add resistance or disable if there are many non bot comments.
- Allow users to vote on the bot’s upload speed and what gets priority (up/down vote this comment)
- Pin an admin post to act like a “settings menu” for the project
- Pin an unintrucive admin comment in every post to vote on actions for the post
- Use as little boilerplate as possable. Hide in spoiler what you cant avoid.
- Use one bot account for uploads, one blocked user blocks the whole service.
- Put human and machine readable metadata of the original and repost in a spoiler.
- Use 8 or so well labeled “sorting bot accounts” to aproimate upvotes of the source relative to its negboring ccomments. Should be no more sway than ±8 votes. Bot votes Should be disclosed in the metadata.
- Call the bot somthing like “reddit archive” put source’s username in the post/comment body
- Allow off instance admins to moderate bot posts
- Prefix all communities with somthing like "auto: " for transparency
- Allow partial reuploads and omition of threads for admin/data cleanup purposes.
