English is the national language, I only know this because it was going to be German, but the decided against that. And yes, those are the only words they seem to know in that situation, “no English” so idk how else that is to be interpreted.

All this talk of xenophobia and racism, which I get are indeed often reasons why people do this, but there’s a certain show of lack of respect for the new home country if there’s not even an effort made. If someone is visiting a country, I get there’s an exception, but if someone moves to a country, it shouldn’t be uncalled for to expect at least a minor effort to learn just enough of the new language to transact/survive. That’s something I see a lot as an American, and it frustrates me- Folks who move here and have been here for years, but can’t learn enough to at least sort of transact. I have so much respect (often more for them than natives) for those who learn even a couple words so I can do my job to help them, but then there are folks who I’ve seen for years that still refuse to learn a single word of English, so we play the mime game trying to figure out what they want. If I move to another country, you bet your ass I’m not going to expect them to speak English, and I’ll do what I can to at least learn some words or phrases so I can interact with the populace around me. I feel like that is one of the most significant forms of respect for a new home country that one can show. Not everyone is as nuanced in their outlook and opinions, and a lot of those folks are indeed racist xenophobic.
I feel like that quote was talking about me and that makes me uncomfortable… lol.
I’m not savvy enough to do all that. Let’s put it this way, I legitimately floated the idea of YouTube premium before trying to figure the complication that is configuring a different software setup for my entire network just to avoid the ads.
Yes, Mint is great… on the hole. In regards to the ads though, I, and Ryan Reynolds, and YouTube wholeheartedly disagree. I see almost as many of their ads as I do ones for St Jude’s. It’s like, I get it, kids get cancer, it’s sad as fuck, stop reminding me that it could happen to mine!
Well, everyone is wrong sometimes, you just chose today. That film is a masterpiece. And yes they ripped off a bunch of other shit, but they did so with proper style.
If I have to hear Ave Maria again in my life I’m going to legitimately lose my shit.
Deadpool would like to disagree. That movie is going to absolutely fucking slap.
Good for you.
Never heard that.
Mindless Self Indulgence. They are criminally underrated. Although their older stuff is better than the newer.
I’d say give it another shot. The first book is short, and 2, 3, and 4 are the best parts. 5, not so much unfortunately.
The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. It’s so much better than any of this other writing that it’s actually upsetting. But that series stuck with me for a long time.
We have so many unique individual cultures it’s absolutely ridiculous. E fuckin G, south central LA black culture, WASP rich ass folk, southern bumpkin, Texan, midwestern, New York. Those are a handful of examples, but each is so thoroughly unique, with different accents and culinary offerings, and dress styles ALL OF WHICH in some way influence cultures across the globe. Each state honestly has its own cultural offerings, but as a whole, to say that the U.S. doesn’t have culture is moronic.
Mine always seems to be luck. It can’t exactly be attributed to lack of skill when you spawn on a vehicle, and almost like you were the detonator, the vehicle explodes from enemy fire.
I legitimately thought that this game had released already and bombed. It just looks so damn boring.
Hence why I said it’d be an unpopular take, and knew I’d be downvoted, even though that show was immensely boring. There were cool parts, like the ship battle with the German dude, or the fact that Andy serkis is now officially 2 characters in the Star Wars universe. But overall I felt like the plot was severely lacking a good pace, and the acting was only so so. Plus, they never got me to actually like Andor as a character, so that dragged the show way down for me. But hey, different people can have different opinions. It’s why the Taylor swift movie made 100 million yet I’m not a big fan of hers either.
I support that take. The unique fighting styles were indeed quite awesome, especially between Baylan and Ahsoka. It didn’t help my review that I just saw the Honest trailer for the show, and they hit a lot of points that bugged me. Like Thrawns dad gut that they tried so hard to hide, but failed. The night sisters take was odd, and I feel like they falsely teased that the inquisitor with the mask (Rakan?), or the gold faced stormtrooper were going to be someone special. But that was likely me reading too much into YouTuber theories.
Do not waste your time watching Kenobi. That show was just awful. Ahsoka was pretty good if you watched rebels, otherwise it was simply meh. And, generally unpopular opinion, Andor was terrible, and took me 2 separate attempts just to get through it. Hell, if you haven’t seen season 3 of mando, even that can honestly be skipped. The Star Wars content overall, hasn’t been awesome beyond Mando S1+2.
Optimism isn’t always accurate unfortunately. I even try using their language if I know a bit of it and get denied the interaction. So they are essentially refusing to interact with folks not of their own race. So essentially, even though I’m bending over backwards in the ways I can, they’re being the racist individuals in this situation. If you downvote, you’re a moron who needs their head removed, because how else is that supposed to be interpreted?
