Yeah, Thunder is weird about their swipe to go back gesture. It works if you’re doing it over the post itself or if you’re scrolling through the comments (so while the comments are moving, swipe to go back).

Kinda crazy how many people use Liftoff when Thunder is so much better.
(It actually expired 3 days ago, managed to re-subscribe earlier today).
I don’t think the posts by the other user came off as immediately troll-ey, so I am not sure how to not to do it again? It was definitely not my intention to feed them. I was not the only user who replied to them either. Some of the comments that were removed were direct replies to me, which is what made me think the mod may have mistakenly used my username when they were trying to ban them. I know timed bans eventually expire, but that I was banned for 30 days for “trolling” will always be accessible through the modlog (without context) when it was possibly a mistake.
Hi! I got banned from one of the communities in the instance about a month ago (climate). I think (hope) it was actually a mistake? I got into a discussion with someone under an article, they kept saying dumb things, and the mod for that comm removed his comments with the reason “don’t troll”, but then banned me for 30 days for “trolling” (and not the other user who had their comments removed). I messaged the mod for that comm to ask if it had been a mistake, but I’m thinking they may had blocked me as I didn’t get a reply.
I’m posting mainly because I don’t want that permanent “stain” in my record when it was possibly a mistake. Is there anything I can do about it?
Equating Nazi symbolism with Soviet ones just feels like such a weird thing to do, there’s a reason Nazi symbols are banned in several (if not a majority) of European countries, but is not the case at all when it comes to soviet symbols. I think it’s specially disappointing because the image that was originally shared was a reference to the “spectre” line in the communist manifesto. The hammer and sickle symbol has a long history that supersedes the history of the Soviet Union as a state, even my “third-world country” in Latin America (I’m sure you can see in the logs where I’m posting from) has a history of using the symbol for liberatory causes.
I thought Jerboa had a cached version of the frontpage and had to refresh because of how fast it loaded the first time.
I am actually going to a mapathon event in my city this weekend, so yea, there’s an active community of people making their surroundings more accurate on OSM.
Not sure if this is related to the infra upgrade, but my earlier issue with not seeing all the posts in the meta community is now fixed.
I selected all languages (except “IsZulu”, the control doesn’t seem to save properly when I try to select every language, tried a bunch of times but couldn’t get it to save), and I’m still only seeing the (now) six most recent posts. I tried unchecking and rechecking the “Show Read Posts” option, but it didn’t make a difference. I also cleared the cache on my browser(s).
This workaround is no longer working for me :(
Are the comments on your end still showing up properly?
Darkly (the regular theme) doesn’t seem to get fixed by doing this, but I tried out darkly compact and it’s working, thanks!
Another weird thing that’s happening is that the background of every new comment seems to be styled with the highlight color, I am also seeing that behavior on the voyager test instance running 0.18.1-rc4, see here: https://voyager.lemmy.ml/?dataType=Comment&listingType=Local&page=1&sort=Active
First two comments have the highlighted style, the old ones don’t.
(By “new” I mean recent, the highlighted color doesn’t seem to change after “reading” it or replying to it.)
I was also having issues with saving my settings (I was only changing my languages) and it took like 3 or 4 tries for the changes to stick. It may not be related to your display name change
Just checked and that option is ticked.
You can save a comment with “Ctrl + Enter” now (which is what I always tried before and didn’t work).
That was my first thought too, I have “browser default” selected (which should be English), so I don’t think that’s it.
Edit: Okay, I got things mixed up, “browser default” is a setting for the interface language. On my language settings I had 0 languages selected (I don’t know how it got changed? Or if that’s the default setting.) I selected Undetermined and English, but I’m still only seeing three posts (the 3 most recent, I think).
Something weird that I’m seeing, on the communities page, the “Meta (lemm.ee)” community is listed as having 68 posts, but when I visit the actual community, I only see three posts, is that expected?
Thank you for upgrading! 0.17.4 felt really unusable with all the random posts coming in all the time due to webhooks.
And now I can use Jerboa!
That seems fair, thanks for expanding on it.
Wondering why a move from Codeberg (non-profit, free software, self-hostable) to Github (propietary software, Microsoft)? Seems like Codeberg would be more aligned to the project’s values.
