Steam Input should be able to make a dualsense work for basically any steam game. Have you tried this controller in another Steam game? I’m wondering if the mod is the problem.

Gotta tell us the game if you want a good answer.
They could definitely treat developers better, but they’re an example of treating customers right. That’s why they’re the biggest platform, and that’s why they admittedly have something debatably close to a monopoly.
Valve is an excellent example of a company that is privately owned, so they don’t have to satisfy shareholders with constant growth for growth’s sake. And yet they’re still growing and making a profit, because they make a good product.
Phil and Xbox don’t have that luxury because their masters sold out decades ago.
Playing roms on a Switch means you’re NOT emulating, that’s the reason people jailbreak them. Plenty of Switch games run like crap on a Steam Deck, and the more demanding games are difficult to get running at all via emulation.
I’m not saying a jailbroken Switch is the best option, I’m just saying there are pros and cons. Honestly, I’d recommend OP get a cheap desktop PC with a budget GPU instead of a Steam Deck, unless they need it to be portable. It would perform better for emulation.
Why is it not mainlined into Proton, you mean? It uses proprietary (not open source) components. Proton is a fully open source project, and therefore cannot incorporate GE’s tweaks. But GE is free to continue making his special fork, and it’s a great option for most users that don’t mind using closed source software.
Oh, pirating movies/TV/music is a totally different story, the risk of a virus is near zero if you’re careful, because you’re not running random .exe’s. I said that I was done pirating video games, not that I was done pirating completely. 😄
Yeah we’ll only know for sure after it comes out, and after we see what the pirates are able to do. Pirating online-only games is also possible, it’s just more difficult so it’s less common. Maybe the pirates will wait until the single player mode launches.
Maybe, but when people talk about “cracking” a video game, they mean removing the telemetry parts of the .exe that might phone home and tattle on you. So often a cracked version of a game will have most online features removed. If it’s a game with a single-player campaign, it might still be totally playable.
This seems like EXACTLY the type of game I would pirate, if I was still a teenager pirating games. Something without online play (or with online play that I don’t care about) that looks kinda dumb but maybe it could be funny, and I don’t feel like it’s worth full price. So I would just pirate it, play it halfway through, get bored, and delete it.
I’m too old for that shit now, I don’t want viruses on my PC because I store things on there that are actually IMPORTANT, instead of just porn and video games. But back then, I’d risk a virus for this mediocre-looking Suicide Squad game.
Right, but it’s best to call that “source available” so the pedants don’t crucify you 🙄
It’s all we talk about here lol
Torrents still work, they’ll just be a little slower and you won’t be able to seed much at all. If you’re using public trackers it works fine. But if you want to use a private tracker that forces you to maintain a ratio, you’ll run into problems.
Behold! I have the answer, at least if you’re willing to use Qbittorrent and the PIA app: https://www.reddit.com/r/PrivateInternetAccess/comments/81n70q/help_with_port_forwarding_on_qbittorrent/jr2mptg/
This is an AutoHotKey script that runs at boot. It basically babysits the Qbittorrent port for you, making sure it matches your randomly assigned PIA forwarded port. I’m guessing this is also possible using a different VPN or torrent client, but you’d have to find your own script for that. Also, make sure to bind Qbittorrent to your VPN interface: https://www.reddit.com/r/VPNTorrents/comments/ssy8vv/guide_bind_vpn_network_interface_to_torrent/
P.S. I should point out that port forwarding on your VPN isn’t TOTALLY necessary…but if you don’t forward ports, your download speeds will be slower and you’ll barely be able to seed at all (this is known as a “dick move” and it will get you banned from private trackers).
P.P.S. I should ALSO point out that your forwarded port does not change very often if you keep your VPN connected! So you don’t actually NEED this little script, you could just check the port once a week and make sure that Qbittorrent matches it. For example, I’ve been on the same port in PIA for at least a month now, and I’ve definitely rebooted my PC a couple times for updates. So it seems that the PIA app often just reconnects to the same server and uses the same port, but YMMV.
Absolutely, these are the numbers for Q3. They fucked themselves near the END of Q3. I’ll be very interested to see their Q4 numbers.
Yeah pirating games is way sketchier than pirating movies. I used to do it when I was a kid, but nowadays I know enough to avoid random .exe’s. That’s basically just volunteering to be a part of a botnet.
Also, most of the games I’m personally interested in are online multiplayer titles. Playing pirated games online can be very difficult or basically impossible, depending on the game.
Game piracy certainly isn’t dead, but there are valid reasons that it’s less popular.
Yes, you have to find your own trackers, that’s always been the case. And Lidarr does help with renaming and organizing files, yes. I’d argue that this person is making things harder by searching for FLAC files specifically, which is unnecessary. Most people don’t care about lossless, so it’s harder to find. Makes perfect sense to me.
Also, check out Soulseek. It’s a proprietary app that doesn’t use torrents, but it’s P2P and it’s very popular.
The Dunkey video caused this
I haven’t tried it out, but this is a thing: https://github.com/Merrit/nyrna
