Thank you for volunteering! You’re all modded up now. :D
Florisboard has decent swipe typing from what I remember, and should be available in F-droid.
EDIT: after checking, I see Floris has not been updated in two years on f-droid. :(
This is a summary from @Essence_of_Meh@lemmy.world:
TL;DW:
This is a simplified version of simplified version.
I’d recommend checking out our local documentary community, !documentaries@slrpnk.net, which is chock full of docs! :D
Though admittedly, most of the ones there are not directly related to solarpunk. Since the movement is really only just catching on in the mainstream, there’s not much documentary/movie content about it.
The only fictional movie I can think of that’s solarpunky would be Strange World from (ironically) Disney.
Cheers for mentioning this, that shit is right up my alley! :D
A few that come to mind:
Love me some computer chronicles!
Homesteads like this are of course better than just plain grass, but compared to a farm, the output per area is probably really low.
I would’ve thought that as well, but, at least according to some studies referenced by the Edinicity project, small urban farming apparently results in significantly higher yields compared to industrial farming. If the figures referenced are correct, then it would seem small urban farming could be quite viable as a source of food for significant amounts of people.
I keep procrastinating about reading her books, but I really need to get on that. Her speech at the end is powerful as hell.
Finally was able to watch this fully, I think it’s pretty darn superb! This would be a good starting point when showing this concept to friends. Good find, poVoq!
I wonder if FreeDOS will find this release useful at all.
Unfortunately, Nell Fallcard herself made a video defending the use of AI, so I think it’s safe to say that it is an AI assisted image.
I’m sorry you had to find out so close to your release, Marling :(
What’s the situation with donating in your area? :)
I was only offering what I knew to be true for my area locally, I didn’t want to speak on things I hadn’t researched. Looking it up, I guess it seems like it’s possible (with varying degrees of waiting period), in a pretty significant chunk of the world, so that’s even better than I thought, if still not ideal. ^^
Gay people can donate blood now! (In the US, at least) :D
I didn’t want to lay claim to it being the ‘ultimate’ since I haven’t updated it in so long 😅
History tells us that 85% of these people will move to Windows 11 despite what they say.
The interesting rub this time is the hardware. There’s tons of still powerful and useful CPU’s in use today that don’t support Windows 11’s TPM 2.0, so I wonder if that will push a few more people to Linux than when Windows 7 was EOL.
Thanks for taking over !podcasts! :D
As for tagging, at least on PC with the normal Lemmy-ui, when I type @LibertyLizard (or just @Liberty) and then do nothing, a menu pops up next to it with names which I can click on, and that will autofill the correct formatting to tag the user in their inbox.
Also @quercus@slrpnk.net may like you as a co-mod over on !nolawns, never hurts to ask ^^
