They’ll literally never lower prices. Look at what prices for everything are right now. Their excuse was that covid was driving up prices, now that covid is over they realized they could charge more so here we are.

I find that to be a good thing. The less centralized institutions that can control what we do the better. I say that while social media is the biggest it’s ever been.
They’re making the same argument people make about music. There’s plenty of good music out there of all genres. Radio just doesn’t play it and you have to go out of your way to find what you like.
They’re not smart enough it figure out anything not mainstream. I heard most of the big sites blocked recently were live TV feed sites.
The cerveza crystal edit wasn’t a meme edit. Iirc it was a totally legit copy of the movie aired in Chile decades ago when they got the rights to air the movie on their local TV. They wanted to make extra money and that company paid the TV station to do in movie product placements. They’re hilarious.
I mostly pirate games that don’t have free trials. I’ll play them a bit and if I like em I’ll just buy them legit and often buy them for friends so we can play together. I’ve bought like 3 copies of terraria and 2 of minecraft way back in the day in addition to a bunch of other smaller names. I also pirate AAA games because fuck em, they don’t need my money.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason behind no open source is some stupid legislation for ‘reasons’.
Probably because people have been using it since the 90s for either gender. Same with dude. I was in high school over a decade ago but back then I remember dude and guys being gender neutral, both guys and girls used it that way. Funnily enough this same conversation was happening back then too among my peers, and we all agreed it was already gender neutral at the time.
If you ever go to Japan save up some good money for collectibles. They’re sold at VERY reasonable prices and because it’s Japan and people take care of their shit they’re in very good conditions a lot of the time. You’ll want to buy a lot of your childhood stuff, I know I did. I had to buy an extra checked luggage just for all the stuff I brought back and I only traveled with my carry on because I wasn’t expecting to buy anything except for a game cube which I could fit. Turns out I was wrong.
Visited Japan last year and picked up all the originals in Japanese. Red, blue, green, yellow, crystal, gold and silver. Solid condition and working for a decent price at an out of the way recommended shop. I would like to pick up the boxes but they would probably be more expensive because of the rarity. I’ll probably end up buying some aftermarket on Etsy just to display them.
I literally had to bring all my group kicking and screaming onto discord literally within the year it launched. Same story, non stop bitching about Skype but all of a sudden nobody wanted to try discord. I straight up had to send a message to all of them saying I’m uninstalling and dropping my discord link if they wanted to play. Over the course of a month they all switched over, couldn’t be happier.
Well shit. I wasn’t expecting that last line.
Depending on the state it could be hard, California makes it all public.
Same, I blame games not having a trial version anymore. Streams free weekends are actually great for this. I’ve bought a couple free weekend games I’ve played in the past.
Cringe, you’re not even a good anarchist.
Except he didn’t invent the words used to name what he invented. If he had just named it gif and pronounced it jif and non of those letters stood for anything I would see your point, but he didn’t. He named it graphic interchange format, shortened to gif. That said, who gives a shit pronounce it how you want. Language evolves anyways.
At some point the taxes would be so high that nobody could afford to rent and the owners would lose money forcing them to sell. Which is fine. Just gotta make the taxes higher for more than x houses.
People who own second and third homes aren’t even the issue. It’s mega corps that literally own tens of thousands of homes each. A better way to go about it is to just progressively tax people more per home. That second home gets taxed at the same rate but any home after is taxed way way way more. If someone can still afford it then that’s fine, just more tax money coming in. That and don’t let corps own rental properties.
Might be a bit dramatic. All sectors of industry are using more and more tech, we have more people in the workforce now that are tech literate than we did decades ago.
These are random numbers to explain my point. Look at it this way, in the 90s maybe 20 percent of people knew how to use computers but 12 percent of those were truly tech savvy and knew the ins and out of using a pc.
Now a days 90 percent of people know how to use a pc (regardless of the form it presents itself, be it pc, phone, tablet, etc) but only like 30 percent of them might be truly tech savvy.
It’s still a step up from back then, and because of the nature of tech in industry there’s always gonna be plenty of people who know how to use pcs well and if there aren’t then that’s just more money for us who do know.
