Don’t threaten me with a good time
I’m just this guy, you know. Except on Lemmy.
Don’t threaten me with a good time
Having most of the year off for festivals and holy days
They aren’t as efficient at generating rent due to their maintenance and upkeep costs, so real estate holdings firms are hell bent on liquidating them, subdividing them, and redeveloping the land piecemeal in ways that better optimize for fine access control and not having to take care of any “dead” non-money-making spaces such as the concourses between the stores. Instead: just parking lots between store fronts.
This is what happened near me. The malls got turned inside out, so it’s just big boxes around a giant parking lot.
There are designs for a giant glass cone put in the middle of the desert. Air under the cone gets warmed and it rises up through a couple turbines on its way out of the device.
Meanwhile in Georgia (USA) they completed a new nuclear power plant and they have to raise rates because it went 100% over its $14 billion budget.
The fact that KSP2 is still on Steam for $50 is criminal
I’ve considered it, but they all want to mow it down to nothing and I like my grass longer
I used to have about five acres and would only mow the area around my house. But when I went to sell it the realtor said I had to mow all of it because it looked “messy.”
Dumbasses want to move out to the country and live in a damn suburb smh
My elderly neighbor got one and it’s quite fun to watch it tootle around his yard.
I love mowing lawns. Put some headphones on and a good audiobook and I can mow for hours. I’m actually a little sad that I only have a small lawn now, because I can barely get into a rhythm before I’m done.
I just watched the movie because there were boobies.
It’s all water under the fridge
Oracle is a law firm disguised as a tech company
Or Civilization, where one more turn becomes five hours where you’ve barely moved.
Gods I was strong then.
where I fly a space truck
When money is not in circulation, it’s not being used to pay for goods and services…it’s just…sitting there being hoarded.
This is why I think the velocity of money should be a key economic indicator. Money moving around and doing work is what makes an economy better for everyone. When it starts to pool in the economy it slows down and benefits only a few.
This is another thing I learned from “Making Money”
Terry Pratchett’s “Making Money” taught me enough economics to know that individual debt and national debt are two different things.
I work with databases and don’t use master/slave because it’s not really accurate. Replicas break a lot, and the primary doesn’t have any control over them.
One common thread between these projects was that we used actual, physical note cards to track things. They were also logged in Jira, but the standups were 5-10 people actually standing in a room tracking burn down and status with cards taped to a wall. Nobody wants to be standing for more than 15 minutes, and anything that needed a sidebar was handled with a smaller group in another impromptu meeting.
Does it make a Star Trek communicator sound when it opens? Because doing it myself is inconvenient.
