I have a gulikit king kong pro 2 (I think I got the name right). Been using it about a year now, works good on linux (Nobara). Has various modes for different consoles and phones and hall effect sensor sticks (which wont have stick drift) which was the motivation for trying it, along with the lower price compared to the official Xbox controller. Came with a nice hard case and rechargeable lithium too.

Yep sounds like firewall issue to me. Allow the ports eric mentioned in his comment thru firewall and it should work

One sticky point that took me a bit to clue in to was you need to login to an x11 session not the default Wayland. Unless sunshine has been updated to support wayland, this was about Feb I discovered that.

To change just log out and select x11 in bottom left corner of the login screen. Dont forget to switch back next time if you arent using sunshine

Having tried both popOS and manjaro I’d urge you to skip my trail and error and check out Nobara from the get go. Always found little naggling issues until I found Nobara

There’s also a Lemmy search built-in to SearXNG on the “social media” tab (not sure if non-NG has it implemented). You can use !commands or just change your engine settings to only search lemmy on the social media tab.

We’re in the middle of a heatwave going on over a month here and I have been trying to seed some clover in patchy spots in the lawn and as a living mulch for a few of my garden beds and it has been pretty shitty trying to keep the soil moist to sprout seeds. I would definitely recommend waiting until it has cooled off and there is regular rain maybe? IDK I don’t have a green thumb

Yes they have batteries, but you would need one to store the energy produced from the motor/generator. Either with a built-in battery, at which point its just an electric longboard, or by connecting it directly to your phone or something?

Or perhaps the idea could be scaled down and take inspiration from Dutch bikes by using a small dynamo to power a headlight and taillight or something like that not normally found on a basic longboard without the need for the added batteries or weight.

Its a great hobby to get into and allows you to detach from so many other subscriptions the further you get into it. What type of stuff are you running on your server so far?

This is so interesting! When I was growing up we had a small orchard in our backyard with a wide variety of apples, plums, pears, etc. We used to do something similar and give out cuttings to anyone who asked so there’s clones of those trees all over the area as far as 3-ish hours away that I know of. When us kids grew up my parents sold the house but my Dad took cuttings from all the different apple trees and spliced them onto a root stock at the new house to make hybrids with all the varieties from our old house. Unfortunately my parents both passed and before my partner and I were able to move back to the family home someone who was helping us out with the yard work ran over the hybrid-apple tree with the riding lawn mower 😑 so its no longer with us either.

I’m currently struggling to keep my first non-apartment vegetable garden and first cannabis plant alive through a long heatwave. There’s at least a few fruits and veg on most of the plants but none are really thriving. I got a really late start getting them in the ground in mid May unfortunately. Pretty sure I was drastically under-watering too after recently acquiring one of those electronic soil meters to check.

I’m also working on designing and 3d printing some QoL mods for my e-bike and my partner’s e-scooter since those are our primary means of transportation.
