AFAIK if an app was installed by dragging it to Applications, there’s no way it could still run after you delete it. The actual executable is contained within the .app file.

It is true that uninstalled apps can leave files behind in other places though. Which is a problem on all platforms.

You can drag it somewhere else or run it from the DMG? You can run apps outside that folder…

It’s not “dragging the .dmg into your Applications folder”, you mount the .DMG then drag the .app inside and move it where you like (a shortcut to your /Applications is provided)

The DMG also gives it compression. It’s not an “installer”, it’s more a form of zip file. Like a .zip it allows publishers to bundle guides, photos, etc.

Besides the “just drag” method is so much better than clicking through an installation wizard. But some apps use .PKG files which is an installer wizard.

There’s tons of legitimate arguments made against macOS but this seems like just unfamiliarity.

The Nintendo switch came out in early 2017, and it really wasn’t all that powerful then. It’s 8 years later, and it really shows. I don’t think they should make new games for the Switch. If developers have to consider the original Switch, the games will suffer. It had a good run, and a good library. But it’s time for the original switch to retire.

I visited Cuba some months ago. Amazing what they can and have done better than supposedly “first world” countries like the US in terms of healthcare, houselessness, etc. Of course they also have many issues but almost all of them can be traced to the blockade.

You generally don’t need to mess with drivers on Linux with desktop oriented distros.

One exception is Nvidia graphics cards IF you want to game. They’ll work fine out of the box but for full gaming performance you’ve gotta install their proprietary drivers. (And this is slightly harder on Fedora due to their more aggressive anti-proprietary policies.)
