7.09 global but I do have a few files with over a 30 ratio
With a traditional download, examplesite.com sends a file to your computer, that’s it.
With torrents, instead of that you download little pieces of the file from many different computers. Sometimes hundreds of different computers. Then once you’ve downloaded the file you can then start sharing pieces to other people downloading. The more people doing this, the faster the downloads will be for everyone else and the less strain it will put on each computer’s Internet connection.
Also if not many people are seeding, there’s a danger that the file will have 0 seeders and nobody can download it at all.
This is also why torrenting is good for privacy. Shutting down one website isn’t so hard. Shutting down hundreds of random personally owned computers is very hard.
See email is one of the few things I don’t host. I host a webmail frontend, and use my domain. But PurelyMail is an amazing service that’s so cheap it’s basically free at personal scale with very few limits. I didn’t really care to try and deal with having all my mail sent to spam.
Same with the HP mini PC. But I have a $12/yr dotcom domain and a script on my server updates the DNS record anytime the IP changes.
Selling? I host things for myself, not others. Except my Lemmy instance I suppose, that’s public.
Start selfhosting. I use my domain for tons of stuff
If you don’t, you’ll pay a lot more to get it back if you ever want to
Buddy if you think the entry iPhone is expensive you should take a look at the price of an Xperia flagship
That Sony retailed for $1300 when it launched
The iPhone goes for $800
The 13 Pro which released around the same time also had USB 3.2g2 and 120hz display. The Pros are clearly a better comparison.
That’s not to say Apple’s done good or anything, just a super expensive Android device vs the entry iPhone doesn’t seem like the best comparison
70% add ons, 30% to fight Chrom(e)ium monopoly.
Or pihole for whole home plus wireguard to VPN to your (ad blocked) home network while away.
HEIC is not proprietary to Apple at all, they were just one of the early adopters of it.
My Android phone takes pictures in HEIC/HEIF by default, and it’s not nearly as much of a problem anymore almost all software can handle the format now.
That’s why I’m kinda hoping Apple would adopt standard RCS and then the ball’s on Google for not cooperating.
Fedora has always had good Mac support in my experience. Should just be able to hold option key at boot and select the USB.
If you want to continue dual booting I’d use the Mac’s recovery mode to shrink the partition so it leaves space first. Other than that it should be just like normal. Hold option to get the boot menu.
I think that depends on intent and amount of money involved, but I’m definitely not a lawyer.
In agreeing to be paid by music streaming platforms they almost certainly agreed not to do exactly this. Which makes it fraud.

In the US there’s basically no legal requirements for paid leave so there’s also little to no protection for it
