Yeah, 2 hour kernel recompiles to get a sound card to half work were not fun.

Yeah totally go with Ventoy. I had an external device that basically did the same thing but it was a pain in the ass. Little screen and you pick an iso on the drive and it simulated a CD rom. Ventoy is so much simpler. My only complaint is there isn’t an installer that works on a Mac so I have to use Windows. But other than that it’s awesome.
When you injure yourself sleeping
Speaking as a dad… yes, yes he does.
When they started staying after school for functions like choir or sports and I wanted them to have a way to tell me they were done. It was for their safety but also for my own selfish reasons. Win win.
You should be brought up on charges for the heinous act of suggesting this game ….
But the factory must grow.
Which is funny because when I first started my CS degree in the late 80s (get off my lawn) we used to make fun of the beginning Java classes because it seems 90% of coding was to import the right library.
Good because I was confused. I’ve written similar code
Well it depends on the size of the one time payment. A 6 or 7 figure one time payment would likely get a maintainer to do something. But micro$oft should really be paying a long term support contract for sure.
At some point I’d believe their head would explode. I mean they wouldn’t even understand electricity. That wasn’t until about 50 years later.
I can barely get my wife to understand virtualization/containerization and she’s very intelligent, let alone someone from the 18th century who couldn’t even comprehend what a computer was.
This likely has more to do with my shitty explaining ability than anything else. 😊
Well making mistakes is how you learn stuff. Do all this on a vm that you can blow away and start over when you do screw up. So ChatGPT giving you crap advice can still be very useful. Sometimes the wrong answer can lead you to the right one.
As an old coder this is the only religious war worth having. 😂
(Totally church of vi btw)
Probably lots since we all need that constant dopamine drip we get from sites like this.
So they made a Commodore-128?
Yea I know it actually had an 8502 but close enough. This is pretty cool. I cut my teeth on programming on that machine. I was doing assembly on that machine in middle school in the mid 80s. It was super fun but learned later I was super inefficient at it 😊
I might look for one of these for nostalgia purposes.
Not sure “Didn’t the dev dropped that project” sounds quite right either. Figured “Isn’t” was autocorrected from what was supposed to be “Hasn’t”
Not being critical… I’m ADHD so my brain works weird and I’m just bored this morning :)
I never would’ve thought to describe it like that but yes, it does look like that
Yeah I guess it was kinda fun. Especially for nerds like us. Getting x-forwarding to work over a 14.4 modem was pretty awesome, albeit painfully slow, at the time.
