I disagree. Time actually stopped around early 2010’s. Seasons change and shit, but stuff isn’t changing no more.

Patience mostly I think. At least with rodent they smell a trail and then just sit there for hours and hours until one walks near enough.
The $40 watch is probably better at telling time because there’s a crystal oscillating there exactly 32768 times a second, instead of some gears and springs and shit that are roughly tuned to 10 Hz by a guy with a screwdriver.
We run our forks not because of security, but because pretty much nothing seems to work for production use without some source code level mods.
Don’t need the Google Files for that. I can use the terminal to rename a file.

Your phone is measuring time by counting how many seconds has passed since 1970-01-01 00:00 UTC. Doesn’t matter if you’re on android or apple, the OS is based on ideas of Bell Labs people’s ideas from the 1960’s.
As long as the non-experts somehow manage to make a living to pay for our expertise. I heard a coworker vent about her son who wants to drop out of school (assuming elementary / middle) to focus on his streaming career…
Is there some higher level thing preventing this?
If I open a terminal on my galaxy s23 I don’t see anything special with file extensions:
$ echo foo > shit.txt
$ mv shit.txt shit.mp4
$ cat shit.mp4
foo
This is turning a generation of people tech illiterate. The young people I interact with are smart because they’re all employed by a tech company and mentored by us dinosaurs, but I’ve heard some horror stories of the tech literacy of the average young person.
Touchscreen was a mistake.
You can get a 55" gaming monitor.
I don’t know how it’s in 60Hz regions, but here the generators are in 3 phases, 120 degrees apart. The voltage gets transformed to up to 400kV, still in 3 phases, and then down to 400V when it’s distributed to peoples’ homes. Then you can pull 400V 3-phase or 230V 1-phase from your wall.
How could it be off frequecy at house level? Aren’t the generators at the powerplants being spun at 50 or 60 times a second?
Cassandra uses epoch milliseconds for timestamping snapshots. This means that each node will have a different name for the same snapshot. Trivially solved with truncating the timestamp with * wildcard, but just… why?
I’ve worked with this one project for so long I can now read +%s timestamps.
Ours gives me kisses for food and then after eating she gives thank you kisses with pig heart breath.
coworker taught me this and it blew my mind. I had previously jokingly used base 2 with my hands, but something like 01001 10010 would be difficult to handle.
Has to be a country where 3 phase AC is uncommon. So US.
You can definitely hammer a screw, but why would you?
