So where do you go for tech advice, niche hobbies and obscure activities?
What about the back of your tv? Or friend’s PC? Or library computer? Or phone charger? Or… Any other Universal device using the Universal Serial Bus…
You may learn YOUR devices, but you may also have to interact with other devices at times and USB didn’t make it easy in the past.
Now, type C is a thing and it helps with plugging it in right the first time, but that one has the HUGE issue with allowing any protocol since USB 1.0 and everyrhing else is optional. So even though you can plug a type C monitor into a type C microphone, nothing will happen, so it’s not stupid proof anymore.
Not talking about my ports. Also ports can be installed the wrong way by the manufacturer. I had a pc case that the front usb ports upside down. But again, usb ports can be installed vertically, in which case it won’t matter if you know which is up or down your usb plug, because now it’s left or right
That may help in the case of a properly installed usb port, but what if the port is upside down? Or what if it’s a vertical port? Is upside left or right?
What about DLCs? And micro-transactions? And lack of optimisations? Base games these days are more like beta versions of what used to be provided in the past… It kinda feels like shrinkflation, price is the same but you get a lot less, both in quality and quantity.
I am not sure, possibly not. Of course this isn’t the ideal scenario, this is why port forwarding is still recommended, but you probably still get away without using it, if you download mostly freeleach and popular torrents. That way you can 1:1 the ratio during the download.
You can connect to them though. Peers that have their ports open can allow seeders to connect to them
You came here asking if a vpn config is outrageous. And it may be for you, but it’s also probably the only option for that specific provider as they can’t get their own client onto the locked down apple store.
You can continue using your devices, but don’t expect people to give you solutions left and right as you are not using an open “ecosystem”, so sometimes there is no (easy) solution. All people did was suggesting a better approach that will give you a lot less headaches and you took it personally…
I wish… 8C with heavy rain is pretty far from ideal. Light jacket is enough, but umbrella and weather proof shoes also needed. YMMV
Same place where you go bankrupt by calling an ambulance… And they consider themselves a developed country lol
This… Also my water already comes at 10C in the summer, even less in the winter… Any colder and you’d have to bite and chew it rather than drink…
Judging by the amount of downvotes, I think the /s would’ve helped at the end.
It probably takes 15 seconds to put the address into street view and have a look around. Shouldn’t be too dificult to validate the photo. Not sure if there are any privacy policies preventing that, but I doubt it.
Which is why u get fireworks when someone plugs in a random usb drive they’ve found in the parking lot, looks at stuxnet
You should join some private trackers then. I am consistently getting 100+MB/s on many torrents from such trackers. That is of course on gigabit fibre and proper port forwarding configured.
Mall has security cameras
You know you are in some deep shit when the answer for a math question is no longer just numbers
Aren’t these *arr software using public trackers? If that is the case I recommend private trackers. A lot more reliable with a better database. Also some allow you to create re-seed requests for dead torrents.
I umderstand your reasoning and I sure hope the fediverse will succeed. I doubt the normies will come over any time soon, but that is not really a bad thing. What is bad tho, is the fragmentation of data over so many instances, duplicate communities not knowing about each other and the censorship some instances apply. I don’t even know how some of these will get fixed or if they will ever, as they are core part of a decentralized architecture. I miss infinity tho, eternity for lemmy worked for a while but it’s no longer maintained :(
