  • This is actually a HUGE factor in human sexual selection. Other primates have visible Estrous cycles. I.e. what people commonly call going into heat.

This has a big impact on reproductive dynamics. Who mates, when they mate, etc.

Humans, for whatever reason, do not have a visible indicator of fertility, which provides females more sexual selection options. Because it’s not obvious when they’re in heat, they can choose who they mate with at the right time. They can also socially mate all the time, which can increase human bonding.

I use tinder, it’s been really good for me.

The key is to use the app that is popular in your location.

Attitude is a huge factor, think of it just like meeting random people, maybe having great discussions, maybe having an excuse to go to event with somebody, having a good adventure. No pressure no expectations. If you have a plan people love to join the plan. So the initial swipe match game is what it is. You can have a friend with a good camera take some nice photos, you can show interesting places, interesting things, let the app choose your most engaging photo for you automatically.

When you talk to people find something interesting about them, ask them questions about it, have your own agenda, invite them to events you already have planned and no big deal if they don’t go. Surprisingly most people want to go and see what this cool thing you’re doing is. And then from there you know you can build up.

The dating apps are just a meeting place of people who are interested in meeting people. If you treat it like that, just like a happy hour, you’re going to have a great time

  • The connection to the network is fungible.

If the phone number you give everybody is a voip number, like Google voice…

Then it doesn’t matter who your cell phone carrier is. Buy the cheapest one, month to month.

Visible is a good option. Just don’t move your phone number. Leave your phone number on VoIP. Don’t give anybody the phone number of your phone.

A couple reasons, first it’s the easiest to move your phone around if you don’t have to move the number, second nobody can track your location by looking up your phone number if they don’t have your physical phone number. VoIP does not map to your phone

  • Opt-in ; Respecting Agency; Explicit Consent.

Microsoft has every intention of SHOVING this down your throat, and only corporate group policy will be exempted. They will use every nag screen, dark pattern, accidently enabling with updates, randomized installs, to make it happen. Look at what they do with edge, for an example. MS absolutely does not respect consent. #MS-MeToo

Apple for all its faults, respects people when they say No, and if they say it’s opt-in, they have a track record to back that up. Apple says ‘Hey look at this cool new feature you can use’, and I think Horray - more choice.

Skimming all the comments, didn’t see this mentioned explicitly
