The thing is that most Unity games don’t even have DRM in the first place. At most most will have the Steam DRM which is trivial to bypass. And Unity Games released on GOG will be especially at risk.

You can make a DMCA request for whatever you want. Even if it’s BS the onus of proof falls on the instance not the DMCA sender. Large social media platforms like YouTube and Reddit have agreements with large copyright holders to deal with their complaints out of court but there is no way any Lemmy instance has that.

If something is hosted on one of the piracy instances that some corp doesn’t like, they come for everyone who has that data.

There really isnt a good reason to limit upload unless you have other devices that need the upload capacity on your Internet connection. It’s best to leave it uncapped. Limiting upload doesn’t prevent ISP or Copyright holders from viewing your IP. Torrent clients will do this automatically if left un capped but you want it to be about 70-80% of your max real upload speed.

Have you limited upload? The BitTorrent protocol needs some amount of upload to sustain download speeds and throttling upload can mess it up.

This means that the instinct to find, and kill snakes goes back millions of years. Yet now when I encounter a snake my instinct is to move it to a safer spot so it doesn’t get hurt or hurt me.

I think that if we can get over such a deep rooted instinct, we can get over the ‘Us Vs Them’ instinct too.
