If we’ve just met, not at all.
If we’ve been best friends for 10 years, that would sting a little.
If we’ve just met, not at all.

It’s a sad time to be alive when people genuinely believe that being openly hostile and combative is the same thing as constructive criticism.
Banning seems totally reasonable to me. Nobody is obligated to put up with that shit.
Physical media today isn’t really much better though, increasingly frequently all a disk gets you is a license to activate a digital copy anyways, with a “must be online for first play” requirement.
Learning to work the clutch and feel the friction zone is a more difficult skill than some want to admit.
Learning to drive a motorcycle was a bit overwhelming, I remember my instructor talking about applying the brakes with right hand and foot while disengaging the clutch with the left hand and downshifting with the left foot… and thinking “how the hell is anyone supposed to keep track of all that!”
I do miss my stick shift though, it was more fun to drive even if less practical.
I really blame Musecore for this, and all of the social engineering that big tech has been doing for years to make profiting off of selling user submitted content seem acceptable.
I miss the golden age of the late 90’s when tabs were easy to get and free.
Definitely fire, without it none of the other inventions happen afterwards; though I guess we didn’t really invent it as much as we learned to harness it.
Why is the picture for this url showing “tally, a free way to make forms”? Is the website really using opengraph social thumbnails to display ads?
Edit: Never mind, the linked page has a link to tally in it apparently… which is still not really what the OG links are for, but it’s far less irritating than what I originally thought.
Worcestershire sauce in tuna. It is delicious.
I want my ICQ and my IRCs and my “you’ve got mail” and my horrible screeching that means I will be online soon back.
I’m not even kidding. Give me back my 90s internet.
Of course, the DS games are filled to the absolute brim with meaningful, world-building lore. ES6 could really take from that example.
You sound like a great reason not to work where you work.
Oh, ok, I remember that now, thanks.
I’ll see about forgetting it again because it irritates me lol.
Everyone knows how to Google today, this isn’t 1992 where the internet was new and we had to teach search engine usage in school.
People ask questions in forums (online and otherwise) because they want answers from people who don’t need to Google it. They’re asking for a real interaction with a real human being who knows what they’re talking about and can be asked follow up questions.
It’s hard to believe, but there are still people out there who just want the human interaction more than a clinical answer.
I, also, ANAL.
Totally agree on RTFM, I almost exclusively see it used by people who really need to put you down to feel adequate. Same thing with the assholes who answer a question with a LMGTFY (let me Google that for you) link, who think they’re clever but have entirely missed the point of asking for input from actual humans.
I don’t know PEBKAC and I’m kind of afraid to look it up.
I kinda thought that was the way to go as well, but I need to find one that supports my giant troll hands. The ones I’ve tried in the past were too short I think so my hand ended up just on my desk at a weird angle.
The biggest difference between Nix and Guix is that Guix doesn’t support non-foss software, meaning you can’t use it as a package manager on other operating systems. I originally wanted to use Guix but use a Mac for work, so that became a deal breaker.
Nix is pretty awesome as a package manager, I’ve been happy with it after the truly unnecessary learning curve brutality. I do not imagine I would ever use the full OS though.
I have such mixed feelings about my Ergo, I really want to like it but I feel clumsy on it and it seems like the extra strain on my thumb will take a toll long term with that repetitive stress.
You don’t even need to quality it. Some people just feel the need to tear down others to make themselves feel good. It’s low self-esteem, misplaced onto whatever happens to be near them.
I think we’re all vulnerable to it, too. Part of being a good neighbor is checking yourself to see if you’re being a dick about your preferences, and just letting people enjoy what they enjoy (unless that thing is harming others; you know, common sense).
This just in: intentionally misrepresenting something has a 100% chance of it being misrepresented.
Let’s try again:
