We need more people on lemmy from all different backgrounds to balance these debates out. Defederation may still occur, but the majority will not be a bunch of radical lefties.

As tankies would say “diversity is our strength!”, so lemmy needs more diversity of opinion.

Not yet, someone requested this feature and I would like it to to block the NSFW porn instances. I do have NSFW enabled but I still see pictures of SFW girls in my feed from NSFW instances and I would like to just block that stuff from those adult only instances.

I not for lemmy.world blocking or deferating instances in general. But this feature gives the user the choice to block instances while others can allow content from instsnces to flow into their feed if they wish.

Yes but hosting a “free speech instance” in a country without freedom of speech protections will be harder to run due to the lack free speech rights. I advise running such an instance in the US for this reason.

The users on the instance that are not US citizens have to in theory follow their local laws. Kinda like how a Russian or Chinese internet user needs to be cautious when using American social media.

  • Start off with Bottles if Wine is too hard. Wine is a cmd line application while Bottles is Wine with a GUI making it easy to manage Wine.

Also, it is wise to try and have a different wine bottle (aka prefix) for each windows application you install and run.

Also Linux Mint is a distro that comes with Cinnamon pre-installed as long you download the Cinnamon option which is a fork of Ubuntu.
