  • I played this. A great game. That era and Bullfrog in particular were incredible. Dungeon Keeper is one of the best games I played. Theme Hospital and Theme Park were great. It was the golden age of strategy games. Age of Empires 2, Heroes of Might and Magic 3. Red Alert games. Railroad Tycoon. I have no idea why this type of game became unpopular.

I strongly recommend Dungeon Keeper 1 (ideally gold with Deeper Dungeons add on) and Theme Hospital. Can get them on Gog.

  • They sunset Atom to push VS code despite assurances they wouldn’t.

Co-pilot slurping open source code and spitting out code without license attribution. One example of this was when it spat out Quake 2 code and comment verbatim.

Enshittification started, you just ain’t ready to see it yet. MS has a track record and will continue.

2 git hosts is just 2 tabs and by the time federation happens, you’ve already got vendor lock in because of all the issues. I doubt migration of those will be straightforward.

  • I think it’s worth bringing a solution in house. A recommended migration route. If you want people to feel confident to pick any instance, you have to give them the confidence to move easily and not fear picking a small instance that might die when their owner gets bored. A simple setting option to migrate from, then you select the account and either (through communities accessible, or through automated request, pull that data and subscribe to communities. Maybe blocks etc also.

  • But the interim CEO led the redundancies. The common factor in all of this is the board. The CEO just does what the board are pushing for and sign off on. Ricky is bad and not a good man by any stretch of the imagination, but he was less bad 2/4/6 years ago for a bit. He’s just the hatchet (yes) man doing the business of the big shareholders.

The next CEO will likely be following the same play book. Without a change of board, it’s still an evil company. Ricky was just the fall guy that they bin off so naive folk buy into the fact it’s “all fixed, and back to old Unity”.

The great advise right now, is stay away from Unity. You have Godot, Armory3d, and hell, even Epic run Unreal Engine is better.
