a good dropperful of liquid vitamin D is good for me once a week. make sure it’s enough – the typical recommended daily values (at least in the US) are pretty low.

I’ve been reading The Recognitions (by William Gaddis) for months and I’m ready to be done with it. It’s brilliantly written, but it’s long and difficult in parts. So I’m kind of speed-reading the last 1/4 of it just because I’m losing steam. Don’t get me wrong… it’s a great book!

Interesting, I just finished this book. I tried it in high school, it seemed profound at the time, but I couldn’t finish it. Now I’m an older software dev and it was much easier to read this time around, but I feel like I missed something. Did Hofstatder gloss a bunch of stuff in the final couple of chapters? Or did I just fail to grasp all the strange loop stuff and put it together on my own? Not sure. I still enjoyed it, and it gave me some good ways of conceptualizing brains, minds, thoughts, etc. Especially the ant colony stuff.

Same! Hell, I run it on mostly-ultra, as I prefer image quality to frames most of the time. (also, I’m not 4k or anything… Just an old 1080p 60hz monitor)
